Courses and Workshops

Our Courses and Workshops are organized into different Topics, each one represented by a different symbol. You can find them on the top of the horizontal menu, under the Courses and Workshops tab. They are also indexed below this text.

Each course or workshop is included in only one Topic, although many of them could belong to multiple topics. Therefore, we recommend you take a look at all the Topics related to your speciality.

In the Agenda menu, the courses and workshops are listed by date, but please be aware that only those courses and workshops for which registration is open appear there.

Network Tools in Biosciences

New course on the use of networks as a tool for addressing different problems in Biology

Many features and processes of biological systems can be well represented by networks of interacting elements. In recent decades, network analysis has provided new insights into the organisation and functioning of complex biological systems such as the brain, genetic regulation, or ecological dynamics. The course Network Tools in Biosciences will be held at the premises …

Introduction to Individual Based Models in Ecology Using Netlogo

Introduction to Individual Based Models in Ecology Using Netlogo

In ecology many patterns at the population or community level emerge from processes, variability and interactions at the individual scale. Therefore it is increasingly acknowledged that the basic entities in many ecological models should be individuals. This is the aim of individual based modelling (or agent based models). This kind of models simulates the actions …
